Straw. It's all straw.

Call it
Artistic temperment
Sentimentalism
Dry-eyed weeping
And heart held on the sleeve.

Call it
Laughable,
Lamentable,
Pitiful,
Self-Centered
The circus of the psyche
The whirligig of thought
The rising doubt and
Falling joy
All underlined with
Misshapen pride

Call it
Damnable,
Disgusting,
Myopic and
Obtuse.

Call it
Tiring,
Impotent,
Paralyzing,
Ever.

Straw.
All I have ever done.
No better than the merest straw,
That a Child may still rest His Head upon.

Mood: Ibid
Music: "Before the Storm" a la mental jutebox
Thought: Recall that in theatre, one can only be as good as those with whom one has to work. To a certain extent, events are unpredictable. Recall, too, that all things are passing, and the path before one's feet has been traced by the steps of God. Steps to Calvary, perhaps - but also to the third day.
Promise: To write up a review of Mel Gibson's Passion which I saw in a sneak preview last night. Must sleep now, and snap myself from moping.
Have Achieved: Two whole classes graded
Missed the Boat: On casting, perhaps? But what is more important, Em...the product or the process. Live up to your own creed, missy. Sainthood, not success.
